Contracted to Fraser Basin Council on a project for BC Wildfire Service, to determine the interest and capacity to develop rural community wildfire fighting capabilities in areas outside of structural fire protection boundaries in the BC Interior. The desired goal was to deliver training and provide equipment before the 2024 wildfire season in rural areas, to enable a cooperative working relationship with BC Wildfire Service and take advantage of rural community local knowledge and capacity.
Subcontracted to Forsite Consultants Ltd. to support development of 10 community wildfire resiliency plans for Thompson-Nicola Regional District electoral areas, leading public engagement component.
Subcontracted to Cariboo Aboriginal Forest Enterprises Ltd. with a team of others to develop a forest management plan for Chilcotin Military Training Area Lot 7741 , fall 2022 to spring 2023.
Funded by the Woodlot Product Development Council, developed guidance about the current state of forest carbon management to inform woodlot licensees about what their possible options are. Presented to Woodlot Conference in Cranbrook in October 2023.
Worked with leadership from Nooaitch and Lower Nicola Indian Band, designed and facilitated a multi-disciplinary workshop with 80 participants from all orders of government, the private sector to initiate a coordinated 2-5 year watershed recovery plan. Ongoing facilitation and coordination of restoration initiatives in-stream, in forests/uplands, and coordinating use of data, predictive tools across disciplines.
Worked with a team to host a May 2023 event to explore how Quesnel can become a hub of innovation in forest and land management, manufacturing of forest products and workforce development.
Regeneration and free growing surveys in the southern Interior for WWT Forestry Services, between 5 and 20 days per year since 2016.
